Durham's Lakeshore Difference

The north shoreline of Lake Ontario in Durham differs from much of the GTA in that large areas of waterfront land were left undeveloped, or became unused over the past 30-40 years.  This allowed access to the waterfront, both via public lands, and through the development of new communities with spacious homes and lots, the creation of parks and other green spaces, and the preservation of delicate wetlands and conservation areas.
