The City of Oshawa

Oshawa is one of Durham Region’s best kept secrets. Once known primarily as the home of the Region’s largest employer, General Motors of Canada,  Durham’s largest community has evolved as a highly desirable place to live. Today's Oshawa is home to Ontario’s newest post secondary institution, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Durham College, a vibrant and dynamic Lakeridge Health Centre and the soon-to-be-completed Durham Region Cancer Centre. On top of that, the city has blossomed with new residential communities to the north of the downtown core. Located just off Highway 401, Oshawa today is comprised of charming older communities closer to the downtown, and spacious new communities further out from the center,  offering newcomers a variety of choices in housing design, from detached and semi-detached brick homes to townhouses and condominiums with housing prices starting below $200,000 for many three-bedroom, two-storey homes, to upwards of $400,000 or $500,000 for executive four and five-bedroom homes.
